Why? What? How?

Simon Sinek in his Ted Talk “How Great Leaders Inspire Action” says that every organization knows what they do, some know how they do it, The inspired leaders and organizations know why they do it. He goes on to say “People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it”

Why Do I Do What I Do? - Contribute

Recently I completed Dr. Gary Sanchez Know your WhyAssessment. I discovered that my why is Contribute what motivates me is I want to be part of a greater cause - something that is bigger than myself.I don’t necessarily want to be the face of the cause, but I want to contribute to it in a meaningful way. I love to support others, and I relish successes that contribute to the greater good of the team. I see group victories as personal victories. I am often behind-the-scenes, looking for ways to make the world better. I’m a reliable and committed teammate, and I often act as the glue that holds everyone else together. I use my time, money, energy, resources, and connections to add value to other people and organizations. I want to be a part of a greater cause. I want to make a difference in the lives of others. I love to support others, and I relish success that leads to the greater good. I seek to add value in everything that I do and am often referred to as the “go-to” person. This is what motivated me to start Power of One Consulting and this is what motivates me as I work with my nonprofit clients. It’s captured in my tag line “Transforming Communities One Nonprofit at a time”

What do I do?

I help nonprofit organizations and their executive leadership team/board of directors think strategically and develop an execution plan with measurable outcome which is all then entered into Metronome Growth System software, an online platform which dramatically increases accountability, followup and implementation they then execute and measure the implementation and this is reviewed on a regular basis to track progress and hold the team accountable which helps them scale up their impact and growth which brings about transformation in the communities they serve
